How does AI domain generation work?
You describe your idea or project in a few words, and our AI (powered by advanced language models) generates creative, brandable domain name suggestions. The AI considers wordplay, portmanteaus, abbreviations, and modern naming trends to produce unique names that fit your description. Each suggestion comes with an explanation of why it fits your project.
How is domain availability checked?
We use a three-tier checking system: (1) Free pre-check via DNS NS lookup and RDAP protocol — this catches many taken domains instantly without using paid API quotas. (2) Namecheap API — checks pricing and availability against one of the largest domain registrars. (3) Cloudflare API — cross-verifies availability through another major provider. This layered approach gives accurate results while conserving API limits.
Which TLDs (domain extensions) are supported?
We support 20 popular TLDs: .com, .net, .org, .io, .dev, .co, .app, .ai, .me, .info, .biz, .us, .xyz, .cc, .tv, .tech, .online, .store, .cloud, and .site. These are chosen because they are widely available through major registrars and popular for modern projects. We filter out unsupported TLDs both during AI generation and when you paste your own domains.
Why are prices marked with '~' (approximate)?
Domain prices fluctuate based on exchange rates, promotional periods, and registrar pricing updates. The price shown is the current retail price from Namecheap at the time of checking. Prices may vary when you actually go to register the domain. Always verify the final price on the registrar's website before purchasing.
What is the 'pre-check' and why does it show 'Taken' so fast?
Pre-check uses free methods — DNS NS records and RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) — to determine if a domain is already registered. If a domain has active DNS nameservers or an RDAP record, it's definitely taken. This happens instantly without calling paid registrar APIs, saving quota for domains that might actually be available. Domains caught by pre-check show 'PreCheck' as the source.
Is my search history saved?
Your current session is saved locally in your browser (localStorage), so if you reload the page, you'll still see your results. You can clear this at any time by clicking 'Start over'. In the future, we may offer a public history page showing anonymized recent searches from all users to help discover trending name patterns.
Can I check domains I already own or have in mind?
Absolutely! Switch to the 'I have my own' tab and paste your domains (comma or newline separated). We'll check availability and pricing for all of them at once. Make sure they use supported TLDs — the tool will validate and reject unsupported extensions automatically.
How many domains can I check at once?
You can check up to 500 domains in a single request. For AI generation, you can request between 1 and 50 suggestions. If you need more, simply run multiple searches with different prompts or keywords.
